Providence Health & Services Pharmacy Technician - Batch IV Compounding in Tukwila, Washington
Providence is calling a Batch Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to Providence Infusion Hospital Services within Providence Infusion and Pharmacy Services in Tukwila, Washington.
This position is responsible for compounding sterile preparations in an FDA-regulated 503b Outsourcing Facility, using aseptic technique and following Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). The technician is also responsible for cleaning and maintaining the sterile compounding environments and associated areas, material transfer of supplies and components used in the manufacturing process, visual inspection, and labeling and packaging of compounded sterile products following standard operating procedures (SOP) that ensure compliance with standards and regulations. This position also supports other positions and departments that support manufacturing, including quality assurance, inventory control, and shipping.
In this position you will: .
Performs batch sterile compounding in an ISO7 classified cleanroom wearing sterile garb, following designated workflows and using appropriate aseptic technique.
Adheres to sterile garbing procedures, aseptic practices, clean room conduct, USP 797 standards, and FDA cGMP-503b regulations.
Prepares materials to be transferred into compounding areas by unboxing and removing overwrap, sanitizing items by wiping with an appropriate agent per standard procedure (a sporicidal agent, sterile isopropyl alcohol 70%, or both) and placing in designated totes.
Gathers and verifies scan batching components and supplies according to the batch record.
Cleans equipment, the sterile compounding environments, and associated areas daily, weekly, and monthly following the SOP using the designated cleaning agents.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completion of approved pharmacy technician training program
Current certification and license by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy as a Level A Pharmacy Technician
Current National Pharmacy Technician certification or within 6 months upon hire
Independently have the ability to regularly lift, push and/or pull items with an average weight of 35 lbs
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
