Swedish Health Services Manager Starbucks - Starbucks Retail in Seattle, Washington

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Manager Starbucks (1.0 FTE, Variable) to work in Starbucks Retail at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.

The Manager Starbucks will exercise discretion in managing the overall operation of the stores. In particular, a majority of time is spent hiring, building, leading and coaching teams of people, inspiring the highest levels of quality food, customer experience, cleanliness and operations. Maintains the Starbucks experience for customers. This position is responsible for store-level financial results and all operational metrics. Leads by example and provides clear, specific, timely, and respectful coaching and feedback to employees to ensure operational excellence and partner performance. Sets and communicates daily goals and works through store staff to meet or exceed them. Responsible for generating and delivering required reports and meeting with Starbucks Corporation and Regional Manager Swedish Starbucks.

In this position you will:

  • Develops and administers budget and provide variance analysis. Completes all monthly financial information, including measurement and analysis of financial results. Oversees the processing of department invoices, revenue deposits, and royalty checks. Monitors petty cash disbursements. Completes authorization for payments.

  • Interviews, hires, and evaluates performance using competency based criteria, and recommend change in status of employees supervised in accordance with established human resource standards, including progressive discipline when appropriate. Maintains accurate employee records, job schedules, and job descriptions. Develops next generation of store leaders by ensuring training of all competencies listed above are provided.

  • Oversees scheduling and assigning of staff to meet anticipated workload. Adjusts staffing patterns or assignments to meet changes. Responsible for all timekeeping and dependability tracking. Approves vacation and other leave requests.

  • Implements and performs Starbucks training for new hires and ongoing development of staff to feed the leadership pipeline. Provide training on all Starbucks promotional offerings.

  • Maintains the Starbucks experience for customers. Addresses all communication needs, actively problem-solves and responds to all customer feedback.

  • Assures all Starbucks and Swedish operational standards are met and the store is consistently compliant with the siren’s eye standards.

  • Assures Daily Duty Rosters are completed and filed and ready for Detailed Store Visits (DSV) and Quality Assurance Safety Audits (QASA).

  • Responsible for ordering of all goods and efficient inventory management.

  • Maintains all equipment according to Starbucks guidelines/requirements.

  • Assures all food is handled in accordance with food handling guidelines issued by state and federal agencies. Assures a clean and safe working environment is maintained and that equipment is cleaned and maintained according to established procedures.

  • Responsible for assuring all promotional materials are on site, set up according to standards and staff training is complete by promotion start date.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent food service experience in a leadership, supervisory, or management role may be substituted for education requirement.

  • Current State of Washington Food and Beverage Service Worker’s Permit.

  • Food safety certification within 90 days of hire.

  • Previous experience in Starbucks retail leadership/operations or equivalent.

  • 3 years management or supervisory experience.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Food Safety or HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) training.
