Swedish Health Services Central Services Technician - Sterile Processing in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Central Services Technician I (1.0 FTE, Evening Shift) to work in Sterile Processing in Seattle, WA.
The Central Services Technician is responsible for all task-based Central Services activities. Central Services activities include, but are not limited to: decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation, assembly and delivery of surgical and interventional procedure case carts, paring and replenishment of materials, and receiving and distribution of Central Services supplies.
In this position you will:
Assists in recordkeeping and verification of equipment
Performs duties including decontamination and sterilization of instruments and equipment; and inspecting and assembling surgical instruments, equipment, trays, and packs. Fills surgery case carts from predetermined listings. Delivers case carts to surgical/interventional area
Able to relate to and work in all of the Department’s areas on assigned shift
Operates all sterilizers using appropriate sterilization techniques at appropriate campus according to manufacturer instructions
Identifies and reports supply, equipment, and procedure problems
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma or GED
Completion of formal Central Services Technician course or successfully challenged Course test
Provisional or Certified Registered Central Service Technician issued by the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) or Current Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician issued by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution (CBSPD) is required.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
One (1) year related experience with surgical instrumentation in hospital Sterile Processing/ Central Services environment.
Materials management and/or supply chain experience.
