We are seeking a Business Analyst Marketing who is responsible for performing a variety of marketing responsibilities to support the promotion of the medical practices aligned with the PSJMF. This position works in close collaboration with the Executive Director of the Providence Saint John's Medical Foundation (PSJMF). The Business Analyst for Marketing is responsible and accountable for implementing the approved marketing/business plan initiatives for the Providence Saint John's Medical Foundation.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, improving organization performance program and patient/customer safety standards.

  • Under the direction of the PSJMF Executive Director, the Business Analyst for Marketing/Communications Manager is responsible and accountable for implementing the approved marketing/business plan initiatives for Providence Saint John’s Medical Foundation (PSJMF).

  • Interface with other Regional marketing communications staff on projects relative to California region when appropriate.

  • Assist the Medical Foundation Executive Director and Director of Brand Marketing for Providence Saint John’s in coordinating written and broadcast media advertising, including promotional events.

  • Coordinate with Community Outreach logistics for all community outreach events and activities, as appropriate. Coordinate booth exhibit and staffing, gathers giveaways, set-up or clean-up as needed, communicates event/team information to appropriate constituencies. Evaluate event outcomes and makes recommendations for improvement.

  • Manage/coordinate internal and external communications for PSJMF, including internal newsletters. Develop timelines and assures that they are met. Manage distribution and assures timeliness of receipt. Develop and implement ideas to ensure readership. Conduct one reader survey per year per publication.

  • Coordinate external communications for PSJMF including participating in community newsletter development, marketing collateral development, web site and e-marketing development, and patient/visitor information. Develop time lines and assures that all deadlines are met. Determine and coordinate distribution methods. Distribute to PSJMF managers, physicians' offices, etc.

  • Oversee and execute the plan to produce, display and distribute PSJMF brochures, newsletters, and any other written materials.

  • Where appropriate, arrange for the development of videotape scripts and recommends a film producer to handle the assignment. Overview editing and voice-overs to assure quality production in line with the parameters of the assignment.

  • Oversee the implementation and continual up-dating of the PSJMF web site.

  • Oversee and facilitates photography of facilities and physicians for inclusion in promotional materials.

  • Oversee the development, implementation and continual up-dating of all social networking vehicles (Facebook, twitter).

  • Research and draft text and images for use in direct mail and e-blasts, as coordinated by the Director, Marketing & Public Relations.

  • Develop, update or revise PSJMC brochures and mailing inserts as requested.

  • This position serves as the repository of grateful patient stories to be used in all forms of media, including the website.

  • The following duties may be reassigned:

  • May develop and coordinate multimedia packages—letters, brochures, video, point-of-entry displays—for particular assignments.


Required qualification in this position includes:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 4 years solid writing and editing experience, preferably for a hospital, academic or non-profit organization

  • Current California Driver's License

  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, social media outlets, copywriting and print production

  • Excellent presentation and analytical skills, plus demonstrated skills to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously

Preferred qualification in this position includes:

  • Bachelor's Degree in journalism, advertising, public relations, marketing or communications
