Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Senior Technical Solution Analyst PSJH to our location in Redmond, WA or Portland, OR.

Strategic Technology Enablement (STE) is searching for a candidate to assist our Data Engineering Teams operational and analytical needs in support of STE technology partners: Research, Corp Comms, Community Partnerships, Marketing-Dex, Population Health. The candidate will work alongside Healthcare Intelligence's data warehouse and engineering teams to provide data related support, data investigation, research, data management and data reporting. The Data Analyst role will troubleshoot and investigate data anomalies and issues along with working directly with the data engineers to follow through and get the issues fixed. This person will also assist in building predictive systems to help catch issues before they arise and assist in building and support reporting. As a STE Senior Technical Solution Analyst you will be instrumental in analyzing data discrepancies and data lineage and assist with solving technology partner's data problems.

• Build proactive data validation automation to catch data integrity issues

• Ability to build tabular and/or visualization reports as needed

• Collaborate between business users and the data warehouse organization to solve business problems

• Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve data issues

• Work closely with engineering and operations to document business processes

• Work independently and with team members to understand database structure and business processes

• Identify opportunities to improve data and business processes utilizing Python, R, or C#

• Help form data management and governance processes within the data engineering team

The candidate will work within the Strategic Technology Enablement organization, will translate requirements and specifications into finite, iterative bodies of work; and ensures that all delivery and work product adheres to Healthcare Intelligence standards.

The Senior Technical Solution Analyst ensures that all delivery both adheres to and enhances the reference architecture, design patterns, and technology portfolio for the Healthcare Intelligence function, and serves as a subject matter expert for the discipline.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Work with business, clinical and technical stakeholders to identify, define, document, and encapsulate needs into tractable bodies of work for the project teams.

  • Elicit, translate, and document business/clinical needs into functional and techncial requirements, using standard processes and templates. Advocate for iterative delivery. Utilize prototypes and proofs of concept to validate requirements.

  • Rapidly learn about core business/clinical functions, processes and workflows so that the elicitation process can be as efficient as possible. Be the translator--utilize business terminology/language with the business teams and use technical terminology/language with the technical teams.

  • Facilitate product/project discovery, solution definition, and requirement elicitation sessions/walkthroughs. Ensure that key decisions, issues and risks are documented. Ensure that decision rights between teams/parties are adhered to. Define those rights if they do not exist. Document rights and roles into a RACI if required.

  • Facilitate the definition of the project/product backlog, including Epics, features, user stories, and tasks. Ensure the team produces high quality project artifacts, including specifications, process flows, mockups, wireframes, and operational support guides.

  • Determine the appropriate delivery approach (waterfall, Agile, Kanban, etc.). Assemble the project team through negotiation with resource managers. Execute the project to completion. Ensure a graceful transition to operations. Minimize techncial debt. Balance capacity across multiple projects in parallel.

  • Manage client expectations; identify and communicate risks; manage and overcome project impediments; serve as the communication pathway between clients, management, leadership, and the project team.

  • Understand the current reference architecture, design patterns, and technology portfolio; ensure that new initiatives adhere to the standards; highlight any exceptions to the standards. Ensure that all project efforts adhere to architecture review, security review, and change control processes.

  • Mentor and train other staff; assist in the creation of best practices and standard processes for the discipline.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM or social science field, -OR- equivalent education/experience.

  • 6 years in technical, analyst or project management roles.
