Providence is calling a Exercise Specialist 2 - Cardiac Rehabilitation (0.6 FTE, Days) to Providence Saint Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR

We are seeking a Exercise Specialist 2 - Cardiac Rehabilitation that will deliver quality care for cardiac rehabilitation phase 2 and phase 3 clients. Supports the Heart and Vascular Institute primary and secondary prevention programs, educational classes, community presentations and other existing health education services. Some roles may travel to multiple sites on a regular basis; may at times work at more than one site per day. Shifts may be either on a prescheduled basis or floating with day-of notice.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate positive interactions with public, clients and staff in dealing with a variety of duties in various locations

  • Develop exercise plans for phase 2 and phase 3 cardiac rehabilitation clients in collaboration with other cardiac rehabilitation staff and medical director

  • Provide meaningful and timely feedback to management staff on program activities

  • Actively plan, coordinate, develop and evaluates those projects that are assigned to this position

  • Maintain delivery of quality care for all aspects of the cardiac rehabilitation programs, in coordination with the cardiac rehabilitation staff and medical director

  • Serve as resource for the Heart and Vascular Institute in regard to other outpatient educational services or community education

  • Demonstrate skills in conducting educational presentations

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise science -OR- related field

  • Current American Heart Association - Basic Life Support (AHA - BLS) -AND- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

  • Three (3) years of experience in outpatient cardiac rehab services

  • Proficiency in Basic ECG Monitoring

  • Reliable transportation

  • Able to problem solve and deal with a variety of variables in situations where flexibility and creative solutions

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree
