St. Joseph Health / Covenant Health MRI Technologist - Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Napa, California
We are looking for an MRI Technologist for the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Department at Queen of the Valley Medical Center.
Location: Napa, CA
Work Schedule: On Call / Per Diem
Shift: 8-hour, Days
Under the direction of the Radiologist and Lead Technologist, and with latitude for independent judgment, performs all the professional duties involved in utilizing radio frequency within a magnetic field for diagnosis at the technical level. Acts in compliance with Federal, State, and Joint Commission standards. Produces and evaluates images and related data to be used by physicians to render medical diagnosis. Performs related clerical tasks and assumes responsibility for coordinating exams performed.
Analyzes patient’s general body type, physical condition, and suspected pathology to set technical factors and adjust specialized MRI equipment for the production of prescribed images.
Obtains pertinent patient history and screens for contraindications. Adheres to the department's magnetic safety policies and all of the Medical Center’s patient safety policies.
Reviews physician orders and records all pertinent information. Evaluates image quality, handles film jacket preparation for Radiologist's dictation, including location of prior studies and printing of reports.
Performs routine Quality Control, troubleshoots malfunctions, and arranges for equipment service as necessary.
Participates in departmental quality assurance.
Provides appropriate education for patient, families and other healthcare providers.
Participates in the supervision and evaluation of students.
Adheres to Medical Center customer service standards.
Anticipates patient and physician procedural needs.
Has access to and administers and/or handles medications according to this position's license or certification standards and Medical Center policy.

Minimum Position Requirements:
Education: Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.
Current registration of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMIT).
Current California License for Radiologic Technology - (CRT-R).
Current BLS certification.
IV Therapy certification
Preferred Position Qualifications:
Experience: 1 year experience in MRI or a related imaging field.
Licenses/Certifications: AART (MRI)
