Providence Health & Services Manager Radiation Oncology - Radiant Care Lacey in Lacey, Washington
Providence is calling a Manager Radiation Oncology (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in the Radiant Care Lacey Providence at Lacey, WA.
Manages the activities of the Radiation Oncology Department to ensure provision of safe, cost effective, quality radiation therapy services. Provides overall leadership, direction and accountability for the department and assumes responsibility for operational planning, organizational development, budgeting, human resource development, recruitment and public relations. Manages the activities of the department which would include overseeing staffing for all work groups in
the department, and is responsible for meeting productivity and safety standards. The Manager of Radiation Oncology will work in collaboration with the Director of Oncology Operations to plan, coordinate and direct operations and administrative functions in compliance with standards as required by federal, state, local and regulatory bodies. Implements department goals and objectives, develops and assures professional standards, administers the quality assurance program and is responsible for maintaining balanced budgets. Supports patient care by resolving treatment plan issues with physician, physicist, and treatment staff. Assists the physician and fellow employees in providing optimum care and treatment to the patients.
In this position you will:
Assures the provision of high quality radiation therapy services by the supervision and management of the technical and clerical staff. Responsible for hiring, developing, evaluating, rewarding, counseling, disciplinary actions and terminations. In addition, the continuing education and training of employees requires implementation of an educational program that is regularly scheduled and assures mandatory subject matters are covered annually.
Works with the Director of Oncology Operations to establish criteria to measure the achievement of short and long-range goals and objectives for each of the three Radiation Oncology departments. Closely monitors results and objectives as required.
Provides administrative oversight for recruitment and selection, compensation, performance management, and employee recognition. Responsible for provision of high quality staffed operations, including orientation, continuing education and skills training. Performs evaluations, staff counseling and discipline as appropriate.
Develops and maintains relationships with outside entities including physicians and offices, medical departments, community groups and businesses, patients and the public at large. Seeks out opportunities through new technology, new services and/or reorganization of workflow to realize cost savings, improvement in services and generation of new revenue.
Responsible for financial aspects of the business including budget line item performance and review and recommendations on financial indicators. Participates with development and recommendations for annual budget and monthly monitoring of revenue and expense.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree Healthcare Administration, Radiation Therapy, Medical Dosimetry, Nursing, or equivalent experience
3 years Radiation oncology experience
2 years Experience in a supervisory capacity in a Radiation Oncology Department.
If applicable, Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB).
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Master's Degree Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy or medical dosimetry program.
