Kadlec has an exciting opportunity for an Ultrasound Technologist to join our growing Free Standing Emergency Department team located in Kennewick, Washington!
Shift Details: On Call, 0.0 FTE, Variable shift
Completion of an approved Ultrasound Technology Training Program
Associate's Degree (or higher) in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Current ARRT Sonography or ARDMS Ultrasound credential required or registry eligible
If registry-eligible, registered status will be required one year from date of hire into the position
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS
One (1) year medical sonography as a registered sonographer or as a registry eligible sonographer
Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
As a Ultrasound Technologist you will perform diagnostic medical sonography, assists physician as required and performs related duties as assigned. The Ultrasound Supervisor will act on behalf of the FSED Unit Manager to provide oversight of clinical skills, QAs, Competencies, etc.
Demonstrate and sustain compliance with the Caregiver Expectations and Code of Conduct.
Perform ultrasonic diagnostic procedures as ordered by a physician following evaluation of the physical condition of the patient to include the appropriateness of the procedure; Consults with radiologist as needed.
Assist physicians in locating patient radiographs.
Answer telephone and follows through as necessary.
Release files as needed following proper protocol and maintains the record of such film loans within the PACS and RIS.
Assist with patient scheduling as required.
Greet patient pleasantly, confirms identification and explains examination procedure to the patient.
Operate ultrasonic equipment and evaluates sonograms for technical quality.
Monitor patient condition and reports changes to appropriate personnel.
Transfer patient to examining table, positions patient and demonstrates sensitivity to patient's modesty.
Assist physician in administering medicines and sterile procedures.
Adhere to all safety precautions and aseptic techniques following departmental policies and procedures.
Participate in unit and house-wide quality improvement activities in order to improve patient care and comply with regulatory groups such as Leapfrog and Core Measures.
Complete appropriate documentation as prescribed.
