St. Joseph Health / Covenant Health Receptionist - Radiology in Healdsburg, California

We are looking for a Receptionist for the Radiology Department at Sonoma County Entities.

Location: Healdsburg, CA

Work Schedule: Full time - 80 Biweekly hours

Shift: 8 hours, Days

Job Summary:

Performs all duties of a receptionist for Imaging department including same day scheduling, reception of patient, order entry, and answering phone calls. As an imaging medical records librarian responsible for filing typed reports, digitizing films, faxing reports and working in PACS to located prior studies for patients, doctor's offices and physicians. Responsible for preparing prior studies or reports requested from doctor's offices, physicians, subpoenas', work comp, and HDH billing department requests

Essential Functions :

  • Assists scheduler and manager, as needed, with adding on urgent in or out patients to same day work list.

  • Receives patients for Imaging procedures and accurately prepares all necessary requests, order entry and CC for reports. Also, prepares CD’s or films if necessary for referring physicians.

  • Performs filing duties, request films from Fort Docs, digitizes films, and prepares subpoenas.

  • Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work space.

  • Focuses on patient satisfaction which is the number 1 priority.

  • Always practices HIPPA compliance when releasing patient reports, films, or CD’s.

  • Greets patient and answers phone in a polite, welcoming and friendly manner. Explains to patient what they can expect in terms of waiting time for a procedure.

  • Manages, distributes, and faxes medical records according to department policy and procedure as well as HIPPA laws and federal and state medical record retention guidelines.

  • Orders supplies and works efficiently with Material Management to reduce and maintain sufficient inventory for front desk area.

  • Consistently active in appropriate department improvement processes.

  • Answers phone and transfers call to appropriate person efficiently and quickly.

  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the department’s objectives.

Minimum Position Requeirements:


  • 6 months as an Medical Receptionist experience.

  • Computer experience.

Preferred Position Qualifications:


  • Coursework/Training Certificate or prior classes.


  • Experience in Imaging outpatient office or hospital.

  • Experience with our current HIS and RIS computer systems.
