We are looking for a Certified Pharmacy Technician for the Pharmacy Department at St. Jude Medical Center $5,000 Sign-On Bonus.

Location: Fullerton, CA

Work Schedule: Full Time - 80 Biweekly Hours

Shift: 8-hour, Days (Variable Shifts)

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the technician assists the pharmacist in all phases of the department operation including unit dose, profiling, packaging, record-keeping, home health, stocking, billing and clerical duties.

Essential Functions:

  • Process physicians’ orders/prescriptions through the inpatient computer system.

  • Fills new physician orders and patient cassettes.

  • Participates in inventory control.

  • Participates in the delivery of medication to the appropriate departments.

  • Inform pharmacy buyer when necessary in re-ordering medication.


  • Knowledge responsibilities of a pharmacist and limits of pharmacy technician activities.

  • Knowledge of proper aseptic technique.

  • Basic typing skills.

  • Knowledge of basic drug terminology and pharmaceutical calculations.

Minimum Position Requirements:

Experience: Experience working with computers.

Licenses/Certifications: Current, valid pharmacy technician certificate from the state of California.

Preferred Position Qualifications:

Experience: 6 months experience within an acute care hospital.
