Swedish Health Services Respiratory Therapist in Edmonds, Washington

Description:

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (0.9 FTE, Night SHIFT) to work in Respiratory Therapy at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.

The Registered Respiratory Therapist performs respiratory care procedures on patients of all ages (neonates, infants, pediatric, adult, geriatric) in all areas of the hospital.

$5,000 Hiring Bonus for eligible external candidates who meet all conditions for payment - this is in addition to the fantastic benefits and compensation package offered by Swedish that begin on your first day of employment.

In this position you will:

  • Performs care of patient on a ventilator to assure adequacy of ventilation.

  • Performs care of patient on non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP) or CPAP

  • Performs a variety of routine treatments including aerosol therapy, chest physiotherapy, Incentive Spiro meter and oxygen therapy

  • Initiates and follows therapist-driven protocols

  • Performs a variety of diagnostic procedures such as ABG's, EKG's, treadmills, Oximetry, spirometry, and other measurements

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Successful completion of an accredited respiratory therapy educational program sufficient to qualify for licensure in Washington State

  • Current Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner with the Washington State Department of Health under Chapter 18.89 RCW.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN).

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required with an expiration date of no less than 6 months from hire date.

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required with an expiration date of no less than 6 months from hire date.

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required with an expiration date of no less than 6 months from hire date.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)

  • Recent hospital experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
