Providence is calling a Respiratory Care Practitioner Supervisor, NICU (Full-Time/Day Shift) to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA.
We are seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner Supervisor, NICU who will supervises and instruct staff. Provide respiratory therapy to patients as prescribed. Demonstrates proficiency in delivering care to age-specific patient population (e.g., infants, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, pediatrics), and participates in related continuing education.
In this position you will:
Oversee or participate in the orientation process of new employees and the work of department therapists by training, allocating and monitoring work.
Prepare and maintain therapists’ work schedules including sick time, flexing, approval of PTO, holidays and vacations.
Assist in the development, implementation, maintenance and compliance of department policies, procedures, objectives, goals, Improving Organization Performance program, educational programs, infection control and safety standards.
Participate in educational programs and inservice meetings as assigned.
Attend and conduct meetings as required.
Perform job functions as described in RCP job description as appropriate. Provides care to neonates, as required, as described in NICU RCP job description.
Assess performance and takes appropriate action as required (i.e., counsels/ recommends/documents disciplinary action, outstanding performance, etc.).
Participate in the interview process and makes recommendations for hiring.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of a school of Respiratory Care
Licensed in Respiratory Care in the State of California
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credential
Current BLS-HCP – Basic Life Support - for Healthcare Providers - American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer accepted on hire until card expiration date
Five (5) years experience in an acute care setting, to include adult critical care
Two (2) years experience in a Level III NICU
One (1) year supervisory or lead experience in an acute care setting
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent human relations skills
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS) Credential
